A photo gallery of Pauline Galindo

As a small child, c1916
With her mother, Julia Calderon, c1920

As a teenager, late 1920s. Note the Louise Brooks-style haircut, which was very trendy in 1928.
Two studio portraits, early 1930.

Date unknown. Mid 30s?

I call this one "the mugshot." Also mid 30s? Not sure.

Diacritical marks

I'm having problems with the diacritical marks. My tildes come out looking like accentos. I'll attempt to fix.

Photo and note, from Julia Calderón, 1890

I'm not sure of whom this is a photo. I'm guessing it is of 3 of the daughters of Julia Calderón de Nuñez.  They are likely three older sisters of  my grandmother, Pauline Nuñez de Galindo. These would have been three of the eldest as my grandmother was the 9th child, and not born until well after this photo was taken.

The best part, however is the back, which has a note from my great-grandmother to her cousin:
It loosely translates to:

To my esteemed cousin
Francisca Y. de Valdez
I dedicate this memento
as evidence of sincere affection.
Chihuahua, May 31, 1890
Julia C. de Nuñez

Note the idiosyncratic spelling of "cincero."

Some Photos from the 40s and early 50s.
